2. Licensing and Certifications
Before you sit at anyone’s kitchen table, these have to be done. None of them are optional, and the carriers check.
Required before you sell
Section titled “Required before you sell”- Texas life insurance license. Your state license comes first; nothing else counts without it.
- AML course. Anti-money-laundering training, required every year. Put the renewal date in your calendar the day you finish it.
- Lone Star Mutual final expense certification. Online, about an hour. Required before Lone Star pays you on final expense business.
- Amistad Life mortgage protection certification. Required when your Amistad contract is added in month two.
[CONFIRMAR: where each certification is taken and any costs, so a new agent can link straight to them.]
The rule of thumb
Section titled “The rule of thumb”If a carrier offers a product certification, do it before you try to write that product. A missing cert means the carrier holds your commission, and finding that out after the sale is the painful way.
