1. Getting Contracted
You cannot sell or get paid until you are contracted with a carrier. Here is how it works at Puente Family Insurance.
Our carriers
Section titled “Our carriers”| Carrier | What we write with them |
|---|---|
| Lone Star Mutual | Final expense and whole life. Our main carrier, about eighty percent of our business. |
| Amistad Life | Mortgage protection and term. |
The steps
Section titled “The steps”- Marisol sends your info to the upline manager. She opens the contracting request; you do not start this yourself.
- You get a contracting link from Lone Star Mutual and fill it out online. Have your license number, banking info, and ID ready before you sit down.
- Background check runs. This is the slow part.
- You receive your writing number. You are now contracted and can write business with Lone Star Mutual.
How long it takes: about a week, a week and a half if the background check is slow. If it goes past that, tell Marisol so she can chase it with the upline.
Amistad Life comes second
Section titled “Amistad Life comes second”We add your Amistad Life contract in your second month, on purpose. Two carrier portals on day one just creates confusion. Learn Lone Star first.
[CONFIRMAR: exact contracting portal names and links for both carriers.]
Next step
Section titled “Next step”While contracting runs, start Licensing and certifications. Most of it can happen in parallel.
